When the Fog Sets In: Finding Myself Again Through Hormone Health, Healing, and Honesty

Updated: 3 days ago

Because sometimes we need to fall apart — to truly find our way back.

The last few months have been some of the most challenging I’ve ever faced. My health, hormones, and mind all seemed to unravel at once. I’ve been navigating thyroid changes, brain fog, exhaustion, and the mental weight that comes with feeling utterly disconnected from myself.

I found myself questioning everything — my work, my energy, my worth. There were days where I couldn’t see through the fog, where even simple decisions felt impossible.

Pressing Pause

I made a hard but necessary decision: to pause the programmes and support work I offer other women. I needed to take a step back and give myself permission to not hold space for others — just long enough to remember how to hold space for myself.

During that time, life didn’t slow down. I still worked, supported others, and solo parented my twins. But internally, I felt numb. Disconnected. My marriage reached breaking point. Everything I had built felt uncertain.

And yet — this pause has been one of my greatest teachers.

What I’ve Learned

This experience has made me more aware than ever of how our hormones and nervous systems influence everything — our energy, emotions, relationships, and sense of self. Without the right support or understanding, it’s easy to feel lost, isolated, or even ashamed for struggling.

But there is nothing shameful about being human.

I realised that in my effort to help others heal, I had stepped away from the most basic, most powerful forms of support:

  • simple practices to rebalance and recalibrate,

  • compassionate spaces to be listened to,

  • and gentle reminders to breathe, pause, and reconnect.

My renewed focus is to get back to these roots — to support women not just through health education or mindset tools, but by helping them truly feel safe and seen again.

Introducing the Calm Cove Mini Meditation Hub

One of the ways I’m supporting women (and myself!) is through the Calm Cove mini meditation hub — a small, accessible space where you can:

  • pause for a few minutes during the day,

  • reset your nervous system,

  • reconnect with your body and breath,

  • feel grounded no matter how chaotic life feels.

These meditations are short, practical, and designed to fit into your busy day — a gentle reminder that calm is always available, even in the middle of overwhelm.

I’ll also be sharing more about The Calm Cove in my December newsletter, so you can dip in daily or whenever you need a moment of peace.

A Gentle December

As we approach the end of the year, I want to offer something calm and nourishing — a way to move through this season with more softness and support.

So, I’m hosting A Gentle December — 12 Days of Joy and Calm, a free offering designed to help you slow down, find your rhythm, and reconnect with yourself before the rush of the holidays.

And on December 18th, I’ll be hosting a special free live session — a gift from me to you. Together, we’ll explore coping strategies, nervous system support, and ways to create a little peace and grounding before Christmas — a time that can be so stressful for so many women.

This session will also be a gentle introduction to the Rhythms of the Seasons Membership, launching in January, where we’ll continue to explore ways to live, heal, and grow in harmony with our own natural cycles.

Because we all deserve to feel supported, balanced, and seen — especially when life feels heavy.

If you’d like to join A Gentle December, I’d love to welcome you into this space. Let’s slow down together, reconnect, and rediscover the calm beneath the noise.
